Defeating Duchenne Event Overview |

This year marks the inaugural year for the Defeating Duchenne 5K and Family Fun Run, an annual TeamJoseph race that brings together the community to support our mission of raising funds for research to find a cure or treatment for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. It’s a race for the whole family, at every age, from 5 to 70! Events include a family fun mile and a 5K certified race.

We’re incredibly proud to support our own mission while creating a positive event in the city of Birmingham. We have partnered with the City to host this run through it’s neighborhoods starting and ending in beautiful Booth Park. Defeating Duchenne welcomes runners of all ages, families, community leaders, local/national celebrities, volunteers and friends in a fun, feel-good atmosphere. We invite you to join us in making this race a tradition bigger and better each and every year. We will defeat Duchenne muscular dystrophy and have a lot of fun along the way!

Come out and join Fox 2‘s Jackie Paige and former Detroit Red Wing’s Kris Draper as we jog for Joseph and defeat Duchenne.

Eli Young Band headlines Jammin’ for Joseph. Proceeds from this all-ages event benefit Team Joseph (a Michigan Based 501c3 tax exempt organization) for research to put an end to Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
